First Friday Foundation now offers art experiences for our youth, partnering with the children’s Discovery Museum and the city of Las Vegas . If you or someone you know is interested in taking a community art class, please fill out the form below.

PROGRAM PRICING:
Each of our Art Classes come with a suggested donation of $15 per person. Your donations will go directly for supplies and stipends for artist instructors to spark creativity for youth classes held in several convenient venues across the valley.

CURRENT ART CLASSES
ART COMPETITION FALL 2020
This fall semester we will take that spark a bit further and offer students ages 5yrs - 18yrs an opportunity to enter an art competition. Winners will showcase their work alongside established artists in public venues across the valley, and prizes will be awarded. The goal is to create healing through art. To spark the conversation of what it takes to make a better community. In a time where there is so much divisiveness we feel it is important to find ways to remember the importance of connection and the need for connected community.
SUBJECT MATTER: This semester will be based on “How you see your community” , “what community means to you” and “how can you best do your part to build a strong community from where you are.”
FOR AGES: 5yrs - 18yrs
ART MEDIUM: Through paragraph writing, poetry, creative drawing, painting, photography and sculpture.
HOW TO ENTER: Fill out the form below and get started creating! We will be reaching out to everyone registered to upload 3 images of their project soon via an upload link.
OPEN TO SUBMISSIONS : Tuesday, August 25, 2020
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, October 26, 2020
WINNER ANNOUNCED: Monday, November 2, 2020 [All finale selected pieces will be showcased on Novembers First Friday Event (tbd) ]
PRIZE: The grand prize winner will collect $250 and their art piece will be featured for display (location tbd). A total of 15 pieces will be selected for physical placement across the valley at local galleries, restaurants and coffee shops from November 9, 2020 through January 5, 2021. A gallery of all submissions will be available to view on the website after the deadline date.

We hope to allow our youth the opportunity to discover and share their insights, fears, and strengths through this positive art project, that embraces the spirit of First Friday in bringing community together, reminding all of us that art is a needed form that allows for conversations and breaks down barriers that manifest inclusivity.
